WebDorfs don't care how many wheelbarrows you have total, they only care about how many are used in the stockpile. The default is one. Which means you can have a grand total of 1 (one) dwarf running stone for that stockpile. Which is why I suggest turning off wheelbarrows for a small stockpile (q) the stockpile then set max (w)heelbarrows to 0. WebThey start training soon after embark, at latest when the first migrant wave arrives. Bringing weapons and armor depends on the location. Often I bring just ores to make weapons and armor asap. One dwarf will be a farmer and gets the grower skill. Farming is critical for almost every fortress, and works much better with skilled farmers.
