Last Fall (driving from Albany) three of us packed in via Calamity Brook to Flowed Lands (we had canisters for food, but learned that truly GOOD wine is not safe in a lexan bottle !). Next day we day-hiked Cliff and Redfield. WebHiked on 9/24. Extremely muddy conditions along almost the whole route. Got sucked in up to knee a few times. Loved the view of Flowed Lands and the constant water of Herbert Brook along the climb up to Marshall. Found the herd path a little challenging to follow at times and very narrow. You need to cross Herbert Brook about 6 times on the way up.
